My name is Javier Jorge Cano, I am a PhD student at Machine Learning and Language Processing (MLLP), located at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Spain (UPV). Previously, I was a Research assistant at Pattern Recognition and Human Language Technologies Research Center (PRHLT).
I pursued my B.Sc in Computer Science and I did a M.Sc in Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition and Digital Image at UPV (MIARFID), being part of the Academic Commission representing students. Additionally, I received a Certificate of Higher Education in System Administration. I also worked for a spin-off as a Web Developer creating online tools for personnel shortlisting and appraisal.
Why am I starting a blog?
First of all, as a challenge, since a blog requires some commitment in order to be up-to-date and I am interested in developing a project that requires continuity. Secondly, it could be a good “notebook” if I want to keep myself on track or recall how/why/what I did in the past. Finally, to share my experiences with other people that would be or are going through similar experiences.
What could you find in this website?
I will publish and comment on the most important milestones in my career, in addition to my research projects and publications. Furthermore, I would like to share my impressions and thoughts about conferences or seminars that are relevant in the research areas that I’m interested in, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision or computer graphics, among others.
Thank you for your time
